The NovaSite for June 2008 is Internet Beacon Award Program.

Ole Sam and Spook had just finished watching a particularly �scary� episode of Ghost Hunters on the Science Fiction television channel. The room was dark, shadows dancing on the walls. Both immediately thought of a beacon of light to ward off the scares-The Internet Beacon Awards.

A number of AP owners do an excellent job of explaining their criteria items. Kudos! Basic through Intermediate skilled web site developers, especially, are encouraged to enbrace our "individualistic" paths toward "bettering the Internet."

One such attempt is found in the Talking Hands criteria under: Functionality item (2) Do Elements perform as expected - for example, textual, visual and audio, interactive features, pages that a user may wish to print? Coupled with a white paper D2 .

Yet questions remain and we are often asked to provide examples. So we maintain bookmarks which are forwarded. One example is our most recent, Interactives

One of the interactives is a book presentation in flash. Trusting that the presentation will delight you.

hello,

I am Friso i am pretty new in the international award program community.
Since 2005 I was evaluator in the blog award community. end 2007 i decided to start my own program wich is not only involved with blog evaluations but also with website evaluations. So i am offering 2 programs but the judgement between these programs is totally different. I had already help and advice from respected evaluators like Franz Boigner and Aiko Timmer . Now i am only searching for someone who can help me with the english translation and someone who would like to help me with building the website better.

Our AP Community RSS feed had a recent article which included a reference to the �way back machine� . . . so Ole Sam and Spook thought that our readers might enjoy a �reminissin� . . . but first a little bit of background about how we met Dave Griffith, not only a heavily decorated retired combat Marine, but also a fifth generation Texan who truly wears �big boots� while running around in an even bigger wheelchair.

If virtually everyone in the AP community considered content "king" and all else merely a methodology of presentation, the former having significant weight, the latter minor weight, our "Bravo Zulu" would literally have more pages of AP awards.

Just a point to ponder.

The Wooden Bowl

I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now.

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year - old grandson.

The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered.

The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.

When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. 'We must do something about father,' said the son.

'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.'

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.

There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.

Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone.

Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.

He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?' Just as sweetly, the boy responded,

'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up. 'The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

Wif all the pawblems us dogs can has like heart werms, cancer, hip pawblems an udder stuff what does hoomins come up wif for medsins, Flowmax!!!!!!!!

We was watchin TV wif Dad, dear was 4 of us in the recliner wif Dad an menny more on the floor an we seen this comercial on TV. Now ya may not beleive us but we all seen it. Dey had dis comercial fur flowmax an dey was showin hoomins stead of dogs, guess Lassie wasn't available fur the comercial, ennyways this Flowmax is fur dogs that have legs that don't goes right cause it's ta help yer paws go straight. Honest ta doG they said it's fur Paw straight pawblems. How stoopid can hoomins be

Tata Motors has unveiled the world's cheapest motor car at India's biggest car show in the capital, Delhi.

The vehicle, called the Tata Nano, will sell for 100,000 rupees or $2,500 (�1,277) and enable those in developing countries to move to four wheels.

When people are preparing to get married they want a car. It's a question both of safety and prestige. The way buses are driven in Delhi, it's difficult to save yourself if you're on a bike, but you've got a much higher chance if you're in a car. Status-wise, it's very important too.'

Strange, I'd have read from several sources, that in XML (and XML-based languages, like XHTML) tagName is case-preserving, as are all of the operations of the DOM (Document Object Model). In HTML, tagName returns the element name in the canonical uppercase form, regardless of the case in the source HTML document.

I have defined my page:

Due to my life circumstances, as has happened with many of you, I find that I must pick and choose what activities I do and what I do not do.

RAU Awards Institute was a re-launch of Royal Awards University, with the kind permission of my colleague Nikola Kitanovic. But I find that I can no longer devote the necessary time and energy to maintain it with the quality that would do honor to Nikola's vision.

Therefore, I have sadly decided to permanently close RAU Awards Institute. The domain expires December 28, and I will alllow it to do so.

Please remove any links to RAUAI on your site. And thank you to those who supported the initiative. We had a great run.
